Research advance of nitrogen fertilizer losses from paddy field

This article reviews the nitrogen fertilizer losses and the methods for measuring its reduction. It includes those topics, such as the extent, pathways and measuring methods of fertilizer N losses from paddy field, the effects of fertilizer N losses on environment and humanbeing, the measurements of reducing N loss. Application of the policies of ecological agriculture and optimization of the management of the nitrogen fertilizer are thoroughly discussed.
